THINGS TO KNOW FOR YOUTH DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE

Everyone is required to follow the Covid-19 protocols:

  1. Please complete a self-evaluation of any symptoms each morning before coming.  Parents will be notified to pick up any girl who the coach is concerned about exhibiting symptoms.
  2. Entrance to the gym is through the door by the large pine tree, just before the library entrance.
  3. Masks are required at all times. Coaches will monitor the girls' safety closely.
  4. Girls must bring their own water bottles with them. The drinking fountains are shut off.
  5. We will be taking attendance through SportsEngine, you will be getting an email notifying you of this. Please mark your daughter's attendance for each day she attends YDL.

AVC Spring Meltdown Home Tournament is ON! - March 6th & 7th, 2021

After much deliberation, the board is going to move forward and host our annual home tournament for 11/12s, 13/14s, and 15/16s age divisions over the weekend of March 6 & 7.

While it may look and feel different this year due to many restrictions that may in place, it will be wonderful to have our own AVC teams along with other JO teams playing in the Spring Meltdown tournament again after last year's COVID-19 shutdown.

Note: Locations are in both Rochester and the Twin Cities area so please check with coaches prior to booking/blocking hotel rooms.

Practices Starting in January!

Practice schedules for January are in place and each team should reach out to your coach for your team's schedule. February and March practice schedules are being worked on but may not be shared with players/parents until closer to the end of each month in the event we have unforeseen adjustments to make.

The district is adjusting where they want us to enter/exit the Douglas County Gym. We have been informed that teams are supposed to enter and exit the Douglas County Gym through the side door entrance (by the pine trees). This entrance provides plenty of space for girls to put their bags, coats, shoes, and safely distance while waiting for their team's practice to start. However, if this door is locked please try the doors by the library entrance.

New Youth Sports Guidance from MDH

Please see the attached document for the new MDH youth sports guidance we all must follow. The main change is that masks are now required at all times during practice and play.  Practices are only allowed until January 14th, when competitive play will be allowed. Additional guidance from MDH is expected at that time and will be shared with coaches to forward to families.

UPDATE: Youth Development League (Non-Traveling team)

An update for AVC's Youth Development League (YDL) program for 4-6th graders was promised.  This program typically starts in January with weekly practices, but we hope to start the program in February.  The registration link on our website will be announced when we believe we can run this program safely without another "pause" in youth activities.

So everyone, PLEASE stay safe and healthy!
